Port Hacking Zone League & League Tag Cup

The Port Hacking Zone (PHZ) Cup was founded in 2024 in an effort to see Rugby League and League Tag have the opportunity to grow and flourish across the Sutherland Shire area, running in Term 3 when there are less opportunities for students to engage in school-based League at Sydney East and state level.

The competition is a round-robin format across two age groups:

  • Under 14s Boys Rugby League

  • Under 16s Boys Rugby League

  • Under 14s Girls League Tag

  • Under 16s Girls League Tag

The Cup is a great opportunity to reward and encourage students to engage with positive behaviours and remain connected with their school, in order to represent the school with pride and dedication.

Beginning with a small-scale trial in 2024, the 2025 competition expanded to a 7 team format with a grand final day held at Cronulla High School.

In 2026, Engadine HS joined to create an 8th team and two 'pools' were created, an Eastern and a Western Division. Both pools then meet in the final.
